Reflexology
Reflexology is a natural healing method which uses specific pressure to reflex points in the hands and feet that causes relaxation and improves blood circulation in the body as a whole.
Benefits:
- Reflexology can help reduce or eliminate pain.
- Reflexology reduces stress and brings about relaxation.
- Reflexology can improve circulation and the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the cells.
- Reflexology promotes balance and normalization of the body naturally.
Responses to Reflexology
Several health responses may occur. Some may take place during the session and others after the session. These may include:
- Muscle contraction because of pain;
- Perspiration of the hands and/or feet;
- Getting cold or chilled;
- Feeling faint or queasy.
Reactions which occur between sessions usually last only a day or two and indicate the body is returning to a state of balance. Below are some of the most common reported effects.
- Tiredness. The body responds by needing more sleep so it can rest and repair.
- Some clients feel energized with more vitality.
- Change in sleeping pattern. Many clients experience deeper and calmer sleep. Others find that they dream more for a while.
- Perspiration and skin rashes due to eliminating toxins through the skin.
- Frequent urination, possibly with an unpleasant smell.
- Diarrhea or frequent bowel movements. This is a natural part of the colon cleansing itself and returning to balance.
- Increased mucus.
- An illness which has been suppressed in the past and never really healed may flare up and cause some symptoms which should go away in a few days.
- Emotional or psychological releases may result in crying.
Aromatherapy
There are several aromatherapy oils which can assist the body in returning to balance. You can request that these be used during your session.
Some of them include:
- Lavender-relaxing
- Clary Sage-inspirational
- Sandalwood-centering
- Cypress-clearing colds/coughs
Yoga
Yoga is a great way to explore your mind and body – both physically and mentally. By performing yoga postures, one can decrease stress, improve flexibility, relieve tension (physical and mental), and improve overall strength. Hatha yoga is a basic form of yoga from which most other styles of yoga derive. Each posture performed will result in benefits to the body and mind; for example, a simple twist will assist in digestive matters, rejuvenate the spine, and tone the oblique muscles. Yoga can also assist in relieving joint pain, create balance, increase circulation, assist in better breathing, and stimulate the endocrine system.
